Species: PARASCHOLZITE - Label Locality: Palermo #1 Mine, Pod 13, Groton, NH Field Collected: Bob Whitmore, collection # 273-25 Catalog No.: u2745 Notes: Red arrow points to small void containing parascholzite sprays. It is remarkable that these were spotted. Matrix apears to be honey-colored massive siderite. I could see no sphalerite on this specimen, just a few small bits of vivianite. The Pegmatite Mines Known as Palermo book states (pg.149) "A rare mineral at the No. 1 mine, parascholzite is found exclusively at site 1, near pod 13. Parascholizite occurs with fine grained apatite, bornite, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite, near triphylite with a fine-grained siderite rim." |
